Loud Noise Front Brakes Ceramic

My brakes are rubbing on the drivers side in front what could be the cause.

Our technicians tell us it may be necessary to replace the steering knuckle and hub assembly along with resurfacing the rotors to correct this concern. I took it to the dealership where i have all my service done and they said the noise is because of the ceramic brakes. If the disc and drum brake systems are very dirty this can cause noise. An abnormal noise and or vibration may be noted from the front brakes during light braking.

He put on ceramic brakes not certified toyota parts. They said it is not a safety issue but they would be happy to remove the ceramic brakes and put on toyota brakes and of course turn the rotors and charge me an arm and a leg. If you hear the noise when braking most likely it s your brakes if it makes noise while driving above 50 mph and it sounds like a hum noise it may be a wheel bearing starting to make noise. Brake dust as well as other road contaminants can cause uneven brake applications which in turn results in noise.

This most commonly occurs on drum brakes as the brake dust gets trapped within the drum itself. If it s a serious grinding noise pull off your wheels and verify that you have pad to rotor contact and didn t put the pad in backwards so the backing plate is grinding against the rotor.
